Straight up 5 star review for a cost effective hotel. I was driving from Raleigh, NC to Boston when my hands started clinching up, making it unsafe to drive much longer. After I guzzled a couple mustard packets at the Chesapeake House to relieve the seizing I called the hotel, there was one room left that fit my request so I zipped over in 5 min and got the room. The attendant, who was very kind, went above and beyond to secure all the qualified discounts. The room is clean and has all the features I like. I'm sure I'll enjoy the free breakfast, which is always substantial enough to add considerable value
We were extremely pleased with this hotel during our recent stay 4/26-4/27. We booked 2 rooms with king-size beds. The layout of the rooms was perfect; the rooms were incredibly clean, spacious, and updated; the staff was friendly and attentive; and the breakfast was excellent. In addition, the close proximity to Milburn Stone Theater at the college was a huge convenience. We highly recommend this hotel!

Room was decent other then by the air conditioner the wall was super thin so you could hear traffic clear as day. But they have a really good breakfast and friendly staff.
The experience was wonderful; clean rooms, delicious and diverse breakfast, and pleasant staff. My partner and I had no issues scheduling, checking in or checking out. Would stay here again!
A truly remarkable experience at this Holiday Inn Express, which was the very first place we pulled over when we needed help. We arrived with our 7-year-old in the middle of a serious meltdown and needed to call for assistance. Bri at the front desk was incredibly calm, compassionate, and completely non-judgmental. She helped us immediately and treated us with grace during a very stressful moment. The officers who arrived were gentle and reassuring, turning what could have been overwhelming into a moment of care and safety. We stayed the night and extended our stay. Jay, the manager, was wonderful, and the next morning the front desk staff helped us search for lost car keys with warmth, kindness, and shared laughter about motherhood. Breakfast was outstanding — biscuits and gravy, pancakes, cinnamon rolls — one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. The hotel is newly renovated, clean, and close to everything. When asked how my daughter was doing, my response came naturally: “You guys were the medicine she needed.” Highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express.
Jade at the front desk was amazing at check in and accommodated all of our family members with haste in a time of our need she was very knowledgeable gave us discounts that we qualified for help us with the Wi-Fi password gave us extra towels Xtra ice bags very patient with my 3 year old grandbaby has a wonderful selection for continental breakfast 24/7 coffee a variety sausage eggs pancakes waffles bacon sausage links sausage patties omelettes veggie omelette cheese omelets regular egg omelettes fresh fruits fresh juice the breakfast was amazing Hotel was clean didn't have the closed up room smell staff was beyond amazing delivery for food was fast and amazing it's all super close to the hotel Walmart's not very far everything's within vicinity definitely recommend if you're looking for a hotel in that area I was in Suite 211 2nd floor elevator for Access if you don't want the stairs swimming pool for in season on the roof vending machines on every floor soda machines and ice thank you JADE for making our stay wonderful.
Not too bad, seems a little too laid back.. hotel and room appeared to be clean, and smelled clean. BUT the kitchen/breakfast lady literally had her hands and arm inside the garbage can to reorganize the trash from one side to the other ?? Recycling maybe ? Regardless that's a NO NO. I jokingly said to wife "watch her go stir the eggs now" and holy crap that's exactly what she did, no hand washing no wiping of any kind, she went through all of the hot trays touching every spoon and lid ....
